WHY DO WE NEED AN ENGLISH PARLIAMENT?

WHY DO WE NEED AN ENGLISH PARLIAMENT?

Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland now have their own Parliaments or Assemblies and their own national Governments and First Ministers. It is only England of all the Nations of the “United” Kingdom that is subject to direct rule from the British Establishment authorities in Whitehall and Westminster.

So when British national politicians talk about the NHS, the only NHS that they have control over is the English NHS. When they talk about building more houses and creating developments in our towns and countryside, again the British Establishment authorities only have powers to do so over England. These are the areas compared to Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland over which the English have no equivalent say:-

So housing policy for England is decided by the British Government. The other Nations decide how many houses to build for themselves. Pensions are ‘shared’ which means 90% of Scottish pensions are paid from English tax. Also the British Government can only sell English assets they cannot sell property of the other countries. So if they want to raise money to spend anywhere in the UK they can only sell English assets for that purpose. Every aspect of national policy in England is decided by the British Government.

In the British Parliament itself it is no surprise that Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish Members of Parliament have as much constitutional right to get involved in discussions about what happens in England as any MP for an English seat would have. In addition, of course, the political parties that are represented in the British Parliament for England are all British parties rather than specifically English and many of the MPs who represent English seats are Scottish or Welsh whereas no English people are elected to office in Scotland or Wales. So the absence of an English Parliament does mean the English interests are not properly represented.

The wider problem is of course that there is not only an English Parliament but there is also no English First Minister or any English Government, so there is no-one ensuring that England is governed in England’s national interests.

One problem that is becoming increasingly pressing is that British politicians fear that England’s size and population will imbalance the Union. Also that the English will make it difficult to continue to appease Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland with English money as we become more assertive about our Nation. The British Establishment’s answer to these problems is to try to break England up into “Regions”.

The English Democrats are wholly against England being broken up into “Regions”. Regionalisation is not equivalent to national devolution to the Scottish and Welsh. That is not to say of course that the administration of England isn’t too centralised. There should be a programme of decentralisation to help re-establish our counties and our towns and cities and to make sure that we are less subject to Whitehall red tape and that our local authorities are able to be more democratically run and more accountable.

The point is that, as we move to a situation where the United Kingdom either becomes a Federal system, or more likely dissolves, England needs its own democratic Government in its own Parliament to ensure that England and the English Nation has a proper democratic voice which is heard loudly and assertively over whatever happens in the corridors of power!

  1. Bravo! At last, a post about the emancipation of England! "Jerusalem" and a St George's Day Holiday can wait. When England is emancipated, these things will follow.
In the meantime, our task is to convince our compatriots that they are not "British" but "English", that "British Values" are not necessarily English Values and that England needs to be emancipated from the British stranglehold that keeps her in subjugation and finances Scottish and Welsh freebies and other benefits.

    1. Right on Clive. "Jerusalem" and a St George's Day holiday are not current issues for the average English person. The national anthem and the national saint's day cannot be decided until the English have had a chance to have national debates about them when England is free.

    2. No federation can survive when one of the partners has a population of more than 60% of the whole. That is why Prussia was split up; to keep Germany together. England has 84% of the population of the UK. A British federation could not last unless England was broken up. Hence the British political class's enthusiasm for devolution to the standard regions.
An English parliament for all England would create a de facto federal Britain. which could only result in English independence.

    3. Roger Scruton points out in his Elegy for England that a gentleman in Liverpool in 1999 was arrested for flying the cross of St George and charged with a racially aggravated offence.
The day on which the English should have made a stand was when the dockers marched for Enoch Powell nearly 50 years ago. But our enemies in the form of Edward Heath ( Fabianism is not confined to the Labour Party ) were ready to pounce. I fear it is getting much too late; how do you reverse a process of near genocide? British values means one worldism; nothing to do with the English. Anybody from anywhere can be British. Emancipation; but how? One thing that does interest me is looking at a full House of Commons and seeing how "sickeningly" white it still us and how, despite the Beeb's new policy of one in six non-white faces, how the same pre-1948 surnames keep surfacing. It gives us hope that the English will not surrender their country when the non-white population surges towards 50%. It reminds me of returning by plane to Heathrow from Oslo and arriving at Border Security. Greeted by a row of smiling white faces I could have been back in the 1960s and wanted to say, "Thank God you are still here and I am one of you and we are still a people".
As has been pointed out in the Fabian article referred to by William Kearney, all that has happened to England during my 60 plus years has been planned. I fear that, as with the Greeks, our salvation may not come via the ballot box in the end. There is a suspicion that Farage's election result was rigged as the council turned UKIP but he lost. They will rig elections to their benefit. There has been talk of a war over Greece. The Greeks are a proud and ancient people and have spoken of being back in 1940 awaiting the Nazi invasion.

    4. Homogenizing Homo Sapiens

Capitalism destroys traditional national cultures and languages. Global capitalism is a leveling force that is making the whole world homogenous.
"(un-)English" is the tool of global capitalism. The English need to remake their language, as the Greeks did with Katharevousa.
Amongst Katharevousa's later contributions is the promotion of classically based compounds to describe items and concepts that did not exist in earlier times, such as "newspaper", "police", "automobile", "airplane", "television" and many others, rather than borrowing new words directly from other languages.

    5. Red Ukip sank Farage's chances in Thanet South. It had nothing to do with dirty tricks. Red Ukip had Farage dashing around in the North and Midlands, when he should have been in Thanet.
In the last week or two when he should have been working Thanet, he was at home, burned out and exhausted.

    6. Devolution to the standard regions, or the "heptarchy", would wipe the name of England off the map.
Devolution to city regions, or to cities and counties, would not have that result.

    7. "when England is free". That has to include being free of the Norman. St George was a Norman imposition, as was his forerunner St Edward the Confessor, who loved the French more than the English.
England will not be truly free until St Edmund has been restored as our patron saint.
And "I Bow To Thee My Country" would be a better national anthem than "Jerusalem".

  2. Interesting last two articles although a unionist myself your party does have potential but I would put independence for England on the back burner its called gradualism state you believe in independence but your priority for England at the moment is equality of democracy with the other home nations. That would appeal to people like me who are proud to be English but also still believe in the union but want England to have its own Parliament & a Federal UK.
I would suggest the direction your party should move in would be towards anti globalisation as all the main parties are pro globalisation. Go big on localism protecting the English Countryside, pro small business anti big business. The English are on the whole a small business keen on the environment kind of people who are concerned about over population so you need a strong policy of tighter controls on immigration. Anti Fracking, Anti Heathrow expansion just two current themes you could get involved with.
On the forthcoming EU referendum campaign highlight the EU does not recognise England but divides it up into artificial regions. You could be big players in the No campaign. The labour party has the potential to completely fall apart as it has completely lost touch with its working class base over immigration & globalisation you could become the SNP of England if you follow the above suggestions.
    I wish you well.

    1. Harold,Your proposals for winning are good, at least against Labour in the North. The English Democrats face a much more difficult task in the South against the Tories.
The trouble is that Red Ukip is targeting the North (to the detriment of Blue Ukip in the South) posing as English nationalists.
The Labour North is less interested in maintaining the union than is the Tory South.
The English Democrats can make progress against Labour in the North; they cannot make progress against the Tories in the South.
In the North the English Democrats have to become the English SNP by adopting the SNP's collectivist policies, to the left of Labour. That will not work in the South. The North will have to be won before the English Democrats have chance in the South.
Once the English have been granted a parliament, England's independence will follow speedily. Granting an English parliament or anything like it will be resisted by the UK government. In order to get an English parliament and to stand a chance of getting out of the EU, England has to be independent of the UK.

    2. The SNP's stated aim is independence for Scotland. That didn't stop it doing rather well in the General election. The EDs are the only party calling for independence. All the others will soon be calling for a Federal UK. The EDs would be foolish to put the distinguishing policy of full independence on the back burner.

    3. No to federalism and yes to full independence. Even Bismarck's German Bund is now falling apart through the EU and Denmark is to close its border with Germany. The Fabianist utopia is now crumbling thank God. Their foolish plan is more like hell on earth than utopia. And as they fight to maintain Sykes Picot and Zionist Israel ( Balfour was one of their number) Europe is to be engulfed by Islam and terrorism. Foolish and greedy people. The English and all Europeans must fight back for the world to survive.

  3. The list of candidates for the new mayor of London contains only one person that can be deemed ethnically English and that is Tessa Jowell, probably not the one likely to win. Of the others Zak Goldsmith is, I believe, Jewish and George Galloway Scottish. Then we have three persons of West Indian descent, Diane Abbott, David Lammy and Sol Campbell and one of Pakistani descent, Sadiq Khan. I was born in the year of the Festival of Britain when there were a few Jews in the East End and Golders Green and a sprinkling of West Indians, even fewer from the Indian Sub-continent. Outside there and the ports the rest of England was overwhelmingly native territory. Those black British talk of making London more inclusive but inclusive for whom, the blacks, the Asians, the remaining whites, the Jews, the Muslims? It is just a strange feeling to witness that London during my lifetime has turned into a sort of Washington DC, a majority non-Englsih/white city with the English coming in from outside to work. How did this happen? - well we know how - and is this to be the pattern for the whole country by the end of the century, probably unless the English dare to revolt. It struck me that those witnessing the return of the bodies from Tunisia probably have no idea that this is the result of a deliberate anti-Arab policy by Israel and her allies. Those of us still living in Gordon Brown's "sickeningly white" parts of the country are just waiting for the multicultural tide to reach us, there is already seepage. When that happens will the English refugees from urban areas and those who have never been urbanised finally rise up? All over Europe the day of a rearguard action by the natives - as in North America - is edging ever closer. As for the gentleman above who spoke of world wide homogeneity, what a nightmare, multicultural consumerism and everywhere like the United States. The EU is crumbling not because of the actions of Mr Putin, as American and no doubt British neocons would have us believe but because people throughout time never did live like this and never ever wanted to. They wanted to live in their own land with their own borders and their own people.

    3. The English Democrats need to be vociferous in support of Greece's (national) socialist Syriza government's defiance of the ECB (European Central Bank) and the IMF (International Monetary Fund).
Economist Patrick O'Flynn MEP, the architect of Red Ukip, this week came out in support of Syriza and democracy in an article in the Daily Express.
O'Flynn's Red Ukip policies, which were written into the Ukip manifesto by Suzanne Evans, proved extremely successful against Labour in the North, although they cost Ukip seats in its natural home, the Blue Ukip/traditional Conservative South.

    5. Before the English Democrats can win the North, Ukip's big lie that Ukip represents the English people's interests has to be nailed.
The General election results in Rotherham are worth noting. The English Democrats' vote was cut to a quarter, the BNP's vote to a fifth (the BNP is finished as it not a genuine nationalist party), Red Ukip's vote rocketed, putting Red Ukip in second place.
The English Democrats need to learn from Red Ukip and the SNP which have both moved to the left of Labour, having previously been right-wing parties. (Under Patrick O'Flynn and Suzanne Evans, Ukip moved from being Blue Ukip to being Red Ukip, at least in the North. The SNP long since moved from being Tartan Tories to being Tartan Labour)

  7. The Greeks talk of sovereignty and dignity. The English want that as well. They are the most extreme example of debt slavery to which we have all been reduced. Those who plan to vote yes in the referendum seem to be the well-heeled or those who are frightened of the consequences for Greece and plummeting assets if they come out of the euro or the EU altogether. We must hope that there is a least a narrow win for the "no" vote as the aim of international capital is to bring down the Syriza government and anybody opposed to their plans for a Marxist totalitarian oligarchy. Meanwhile Putin has spelled out that he is well aware that his nation together with China is the main obstacle to their hegemony. Regime change is the norm now be it Greece, Iraq, Libya or Syria or Russia or China or anybody who does not fit in with their plans.

As for England and other European countries we must remember the quote from Bertholt Brecht, if the people don't like what you have planned - and the English, given the chance, nor any other sovereign European nations, would have agreed to this in a million years - then change the people which is what they are doing.

Meanwhile, Russell Brand has caused some offence by dismissing the one minute's silence for the dead of Tunisia as hypocrisy but on the rest he is right on course i.e. that they have died because of the actions of the US, UK , France and some others in Western Europe in backing regime change for reasons of oil, Israel and arms sales. Indeed, one commentator on Russia Today last night said that Washington's foreign policy with regard to Muslim countries is virtually indistinguishable from that of Tel Aviv.

Most European countries have now lost total democratic control by their own people, as England has and lost any shred of sovereignty. This is why Greece is causing such a storm. But he who pays the piper calls the tune and once you have an elite controlling the money supply then there is little that the ordinary people can do.

    1. The problem with people like Brand is that they only tell part of the truth also known as half truths which makes them dangerous. They know the full truth but dissimulate in order to mislead others.

The other day I was involved in a civil County Court case where the opponent witness refused to forward his witness statement to the other side. The side I was on then asked the Court to take action which it did by striking out the other side's case entirely. The Court staff then forwarded us copies of the others sides witness statement and the information contained within it lead to a different series of events they had told our side.

Dissimulation is dangerous and we all live in period where dissimulation and misleading others is the norm.

That is, independent of the UK and the EU.

How many Palestinians support the right of europeans to their ancestral homelands? The answer is of course none. So regarding the ME I cannot take sides. The media bombarded the people and lied to them to vote yes and employers told them they would all lose their jobs but democracy was more important to them. Interesting that Greece and Iceland have revolted. But will the sheeple here be just manipulated as before?

  12. It would seem that Red Ukip has stolen a march on the English Democrats by declaring its support for the Greek people's rejection of the terms demanded by the ECB and the IMF. By identifying itself with Greece's Syriza party, Red Ukip is showing its solidarity with those who are being hit by Osborne's austerity policies. That is an appeal to the Northern working class. If Ukip gets firmly established in the North, it is curtains for the English Democrats and the nationalist cause.
The English nationalist message is understood in the North where workers are in competition for jobs with immigrants. In the affluent South, immigrants are welcomed for livening up the scene by adding variety.

    6. One reason why will not win the south is not because there are no southerners who agree with the policies - there are plenty pushed out of London into the home counties I am sure - but because it is difficult to voice an opinion contrary to the multicultural ideological line when you are surrounded by immigrants. People are just wary of expressing an opinion for fear of attack. On the anniversary of the 7th July attacks we are told that Muslims are fearful of a backlash. You can't blame the Muslims for doing what they are expected to do, increase the Muslim presence in Europe with a view to achieving the aims of salafist Saudi Arabia. The more they feel persecuted for being a minority the more they will wish to grow in strength. We must not condemn the immigrants; they are only here because of the greed and flawed ideology of the political elites who have ruled us since the War. Churchill would have had none of it if he had been young and fit enough to stop it. He was meant to be in favour of a United States of Europe but probably just meant the nations of Europe working together for the common good, which is what we all want, not the superstate that the Brussels elites still wish to push through before it all collapses. History has shown that the ideology of the few can control the masses once the factor of fear of going against the tide of the rulers is present. This is how Lenin and Stalin and even Hitler came to power and it has now happened to the English through the process of stealth and fear outlined by the Fabian Society.

  13. There was a comment by Don Debar on Cross Talk on Russia Today that some may find interesting. The talk was of Russophobia, the fact that there are so few in positions of power in both the US and Western Europe who have the knowledge of history and geography to deal with the rest of the world on a diplomatic basis - by the way I see that Greece is thinking of joining the BRICS block. They are now like teenage yobs running around bent on smashing everything up for their own ends. Anyhow, Debar wondered if the chaos in the Arab world and the crisis they have created with regard to the Ukraine is designed as a distraction. He said that they seem to want to stop us getting together and organising. Apart from weakening and diluting Europeans, this may be another reason for the destruction of the homogeneous nations of Europe demanded by the UN Commissioner for international migration and scion of Goldman Sachs Peter Sutherland. Once Europeans have been reduced to small non-cohesive pockets through the fragmentation caused by mass immigration then they will never get together to resist financial hegemony. Can you imagine what the response would be if England were now in the same position that it was in September 1939?, not a chance of everybody coming together to fight an aggressor; in fact they are not doing so now and the aggressor is only partly beyond our borders, their main off-shoots are those financial-political elites in the City and at Westminster.

  14. Chancellor George Osborne has presented a political budget intended to position the Tories' tanks on Labour's Northern lawns.
His strategy is to promote his party as standing for working people in the North. He will have difficulty in overcoming entrenched hostility to the Tories in the North. Northerners disenchanted with Labour will more readily switch to the English Democrats than to the Tories.

The former describes the budget as a con trick purporting to increase the standard of living of the poor by increasing the living wage; but little above what it would have achieved by 2020 anyhow. But the Mirror says that at the same time Osobrne will be reducing benefits so that nobody will be better off. I am afraid I am not informed enough to voice an opinion. Meanwhile the Mail is describing the odious multi-millionaire as Darling George. Interesting to see that Ian Duncan Smith, who is meant to be even richer than either Osborne or Cameron, nearly burst a blood vessel as he jumped up and down with excitement once Osborne included all his little tricks in the budget speech. We do not want benefit scroungers but it is reckoned that there are far fewer of them then the rich tax avoiders. As a banner at a demo in London yesterday said, take it from the 1% not from the 99% who constitute the rest of us. Basically both this lot and New Labour were neo-liberals following the Thatcherite agenda. Europe is now aiming to ditch neo-liberalism whose followers in Brussels say that Greece should privatise everything and sell it to foreigners the way we have. You are right, the Northern working classes only need to look at the smarmy Old Etonians and their hackles rise. The European Parliament showed yesterday how it could have been truly democratic if allowed to by greeting Tsipras with cheers and kisses. And the Left and the "far right" were both backing him as Europeans everywhere strive to take back their countries from the international financial political elites and their plans for one world government and financial hegemony. Now is the time for the English Democrats to get noticed up North. The problem is that the BBC is all part of the same lot so will not give them air time. UKIP is - as has been said - riven by a north/south divide. The English Democrats need to revive the old political consensus of the 1950s of a balance between left and right whereas both Tories and Labour are now wedded to globalism and internationalism. In origin the term National Socialism was not what it became under Hitler and attracted both aristocrats and left wingers as it aimed to combined nationalism with social justice. The trouble is that the use of the term is now deemed unacceptable.
