SCOTTISHNESS NOT AS STRONG IN SCOTLAND AS ENGLISHNESS NOW IS IN ENGLAND?

SCOTTISHNESS NOT AS STRONG IN SCOTLAND AS ENGLISHNESS IS IN ENGLAND?

The 2011 Census results in Scotland have now been published after much unexplained delay by the Scottish Government. The Census asked similar questions about National Identity to the 2011 Census in England and Wales. This has has thrown up an interesting result which may be the explanation for the delay.

You may remember that the 2011 Census in England shows that England has over 32 million (32,007,983) people (or 60.4%) who have stated they have only English National Identity. A further 4.8 million (4,820,181) people (or 9.1%) stated that their National Identity is ‘English and British’. In sharp contrast with this nearly 70% being English there were only a mere 10 million (10,171,834) people (or 19.2%) who claimed to be ‘British only’.

In England however the substantial “Ethnic Minority” population has been encouraged for years by the British Government to call itself “British” and not to call itself “English”, which explains how it comes about that nearly 30% of the population of England regard themselves as in some sense “British”.

In Scotland there is a much smaller proportion of “Ethnic Minorities” than in England (just 4%) and so the figures for people who have identified their national identity as being ‘Scottish’ only of 62% and ‘Scottish and British’ of 18% are mostly from people who are also ethnically Scottish. These statistics should therefore be compared with the proportions of people of English ethnicity who identify as being ‘English only’ or ‘English and British’. In England nearly 85% of those of English ethnicity identify themselves as being ‘English only’ with only about 5% who identify themselves as being ‘British only’ and 9.1% who identify themselves as being ‘English and British’.

Another striking fact is that the proportion of people in Scotland identifying themselves as being ‘Scottish and English’ is double the proportion that identify themselves in England as being ‘English and British’.

The inescapable conclusion is that these results in Scotland show that, contrary to what had previously been expected, English national identity now is in fact stronger, in England, than Scottish national identity is, in Scotland, despite the vastly different treatment of the two nations by the British State.

Also, given the proportion of people currently saying that they are proposing to vote for independence for Scotland being significantly less than the proportion of the population who identify themselves as being ‘Scottish only’, it seems clear that although people identify themselves as being ‘Scottish only’ their support for remaining within the United Kingdom has been literally bought and paid for by the colossal sums of English money that the British Government has given them as vast electoral bribes to the Scottish population. How else are we to characterise the Barnett Formula?

The Barnett Formula was shown in the House of Lords Report in 2009 to involve a transfer from England to Scotland of just over £32bn a year.

The British State is indeed maintaining itself and the Union parasitically upon the backs of English taxpayers and the English Nation!

  1. More grist to the mill. The Scottish independence vote will serve the English nation well, one way or another.

Nice to see Miliband squirming as the truth about his treacherous father emerges. His pitiful rebuttal of the 'lies' spread about his fater were a sight to see. It is the only time I have seen his emotions show in public in an honest way.

He has no such compassion for the lives and careers he and his ilk have wrecked via war, mass immigration and the ethnic cleansing of English people from our great capital.

This is just the beginning. Beware Britain.

    1. The strange thing with Ralph Milliband is that once the Marxist Revolution had spread from Russia where it had been imposed from outside in 1917 to his native Poland he did not choose to return there to glory in his utopianist dream. I can only assume that his mission was to spread it to England, something he has achieved not only through his sons but through turning out post-war generations of Marxist students who found their way into the Labour Party and elsewhere.

Fortunately, the authorities had the sense to keep Ralph's father out, presumbaly because they sensed that not only would he be as violently opposed to England and its instutions as his son but that he might just be backing his son in his mission.
The Russian Revolution imposed by such as the Millibands ensured the removal of nearly all the crown heads of Europe.
I did read somewhere that if the Communists had not removed the Kaiser we might never have had Hitler and thus no reaction to Hitler and the homogeneous nations of Europe would have been able to retain their natiional identities without being tarred with Hitler's brush. But then, I supposed the Marxists would have been at it anyhow. After all they had decided in 1928 in Frankfurt that they way to bring about their revolution was to smash national identities and through Agenda 21 the homogeneous nations of Europe.

  2. These census stats indicate that nearly two-thirds of "Britons" do not regard themselves as "British"! The word "British" is used by ethnic minorities to qualify what they regard as their true nationality; e.g. "British Pakistani" means "Pakistani, living in Britain". It is also used by the political elite to try to pretend that the artificial country called, "Britain" is not going to go the same way as Czecoslovakia, Yugoslavia and the Soviet Union!!

  4. There was a report with regard to these census findings on the 'BBC News: The Editors' programme the other day. The report observed that as many as eight out of ten residents of Canvey Island had described themselves in the census as 'English only'.
Mark Easton concluded his report by drawing attention to the fact that a high proportion of ethnic minorities describe themselves as 'British'. Easton 'explained' that those who specifically identify as British are inclusive, broad minded and tolerant of difference. The inference being that those of specifically 'British' identity are more 'progressive' than those who describe themselves as having an English, Scots, Welsh or Irish identity.

  5. I have a fellowship and bond with fellow Britons - Irish, Scot and Welsh in that we are aboriginal. However we are culturally and nationally different. Many recent immigrants are free to call themselves British, but they are not Britons.

I imagine most Britons, as they did in the last two world wars would fight back to back to save 'Britain'. The conundrum now is how many British could be relied upon in that way. In fact conscription would be a good test for Britishness. There are many, many nations now whom 'British ' men would not fight against.

For confirmation look at the names and faces of those men and women who have fought in recent conflicts and the ethnic and religious diversity therein.

  7. Gambia's exit from the Commonwealth is interesting as the Gambians regard the Commonwealth as a hangover from the empire and a colonialist organisation. I wonder if any others will follow suit. This is good news in a way as we will finally ditch the empire.

Unfortunately, the empire has followed us home and the Comonwealth is now here. If it disintigrates then will its members decide it is time to stand on their own too feet and feel a renewed sense of independence and identity. Perhaps we should encourage such nationalism as it may encourge the Commonwealth here to return home to engage in nation-building.

Ed Milliband is still whining about the treatment of his father's memory by the Mail even though, as far as I am aware, they told the truth. What arrogance to arrive here and impose an alien ideology on the English and the English working classes most of all. They would never have chosen it of their own volition.

More and more I am shrinking away from watching television as I really don't want to witness their exermination plan and that of their wealthy overlords for the English. How we ever get out of this mess now who knows? There has to come a point of refusal to continue with their one world plans and it will come to the Continent and Scandinavia as much as here.

    2. The North/South divide is something the EDs have to exploit at this stage in the party's history. Ukip is essentially a southern party with the ambition of getting established in the North. The coalition government is a southern government. The Tories face wipe-out in the North. In an attempt to counter the impression that the Tories are a southern party, Cameron intends a reshuffle of ministers to promote Northern MPs to ministerial rank prior to the general election in 2015.to promote the Tories' profile in the North. The English Democrats have an opportunity to promote themselves as the champions of the North against the southern parties, which are also unionist party's, making the EDs the only alternative to Labour in the North.

    3. Although many people identify as 'English only' I'm unsure as to how urgent the desire for English independence is among this 'English only' category. Many of these people who describe themselves as 'English only' don't seem to have any defined position as to whether England should pursue independence. It would appear that many still wish to see England as part of Britain and the call for independence could put as many people off as it attracts.
I agree with anon., that the if the ED's wish to attract votes in greater number they should focus their attention on the north or perhaps one could call it the 'working class' base of England. There is great potential to attract voters who want to vote for an alternative to lib/lab/con and ukip who they implicitly see as a pro capitalist, class orientated organisation. The ED's could then make a clear distinction from ukip by favouring policies which are likely to attract a more 'working class' base support. They could promote the re-nationalisation of the railways, support HS2, some form of protectionism of English/British Industry, promote programmes which favour the employment of English/British workers over immigrants, welfare reform which focuses on helping those who have been left to languish on benefits so the greedy capitalists can prosper, initiatives aimed at preserving the English identity, anti globalisation, anti internationalisation policies etc. etc.

      Delete
    4. HS2 has to be opposed. It will cost much too much, take too long to deliver and deliver too little for the money. What the North needs is, not another sop to London and the South East which will suck yet more wealth and brains out of the North, but better rail services across the North.
HS2 is about tackling rail capacity in the London area. It would be more convincing if it started being built from Newcastle and went southwards via Leeds, rather than starting at the London end.
Apart from that I agree that the English Democrats should favour policies which will appeal to the northern working class.

What you have to remember is that in Scotland whether you consider yourself British aswell is very much on the agenda and in your face 24x7, if you are part of better together (the campaign formed by Labour, Con and LIb Dems to draw out the death of the UK) then you have already made the decision that you are both and will use the census to make that point.

  11. I have just had reason to come up against a brilliant example of Ukrainian culture. The Ukraine, although still beset with troubles, including the Americans fracking for oil there so that they can be free of Russian energy supplies - better the devil you know - became independent of the Soviet Union in the early 90s and has seen a re-awakeing of its Chritian heritage and pride in its history, culture and people.

As somebody once pointed out, when Ralph Milliband's form of Marxism here has run its course, there will be nothing left of our culture and our people. All of a sudden multiculturalism and the multi-ethnic melting pot are to the fore in television advertising, often with the English in the background as the ethnic minority.

If only we could be free to re-establish ourselves in the way that the Ukrainians have; but for the moment the nightmare continues and gets worse by the day. One thing is for certain, if Mr Cameron starts talking of Englishness in a positive light then it must be a ruse for our further destruction.

In connection with the Ukrainian experience I talked to friend about the Zagorsk prophecy of the destructive progress of Marxism which will end as it began with Russia who will reclaim Europe for Christianity. I said that part of the prophecy was the collapse of America which is now in progress. He said that Britain/England were collapsing too (and for the same reasons) and that we are finished now. Sadly he seems to be right but I hope that eventually we will have our velvet revolution and get our country back. Lucky Ukraine.

And now we hear the real reason for the war in Afghanistan, to stop the Taliban suppressing opium poppy production as the drugs money is being laundered by banks in London and New York to finance their financial terrorism. HSBC has already been named. Just think of this when the next of our servicemen is brought home to be buried.

    1. The real reason for the war in Afghanistan is nothing to do with opium poppies. Afghanistan is richer than almost every other country in scarce mineral resources. The globalist kleptocrats wants to get their hands on that wealth, just as they did with Iraqi and Libyan oil

  12. OPEC have now joined forces with the British government to try to scare the Scots away from voting for independence. The Scots claim that 90% of British oil reserves like in Scottish territorial waters and that there is enough there for another 50 years. But the British government is involved in selling arms to OPEC members in exchange for oil and if Scotland is no longer part of the British government then this will destroy this cosy relationship, especially with Saudi Arabia the source of all terrorism in the world. The war on terror should have been directed at them but was not because it was nothing to do with terrorism at all.

I realised that the British government's great fear is not of Scottish independence but of English independence. If Scotland goes and Wales follows suit then suddenly England will be free and the lion will start roaring. The British government is much more afraid of the English than the Scots, hence the need to eliminate them. A renewed sense of Englishness will bring about the inevitable clash with anti-English forces and those whose aim is to eliminate the English and England through mass immigration; be it Ralph Milliband's Marxists or the international banking kleptocracy.

An interesting interview on RT with a whistle blower from the World Bank who exposed everything that has been going on including the dumbing down of American and our - most illiterate in the developed world - schoolchildren. A sad reflection in view of the fact that English is one of the easiest languages to learn having shed its genders and cases. When people receive an education they tend to question things and that is the last thing they want. She said the American media as ours are all in private hands and doing the kleptocracy's bidding; the Americans are being lied to and have for decades as we are. Thanks to Russia Today we have been able to find out to what extent we are lied to.

  13. Jack Wilshere enters the Januzaj debate: 'Keep England for the English'

    • Wilshere believes naturalised players should not be allowed
    • 'If I went to Spain for five years, I'm not going to play for Spain'

    England's Jack Wilshere
'For me an English player should play for England,' says the Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.

Jack Wilshere has called into question the Football Association's desire to gain Adnan Januzaj's international allegiance and insisted becoming naturalised after living in England for a period of time "does not make you English".

The Manchester United manager David Moyes revealed in the wake of Januzaj's eye-catching two goals in victory at Sunderland that the FA had previously been in contact with the club to establish whether the 18-year-old could play for England. The teenager was born in Brussels to Kosovan-Albanian parents and is therefore eligible to represent Belgium, Albania, Turkey, Serbia and Kosovo, who have yet to be recognised by Fifa.

England manager Roy Hodgson, preparing for his own qualifiers against Montenegro and Poland, had indicated on Saturday that he has noted the forward's recent progress.

According to Fifa statutes a player is eligible to play for a country if he has "lived continuously for at least five years after reaching the age of 18 in the territory of the relevant association", meaning Januzaj would have to wait until 2018, when he is 23, to be able to represent England. "No, for me, if you are English, you are English, and you play for England," said Wilshere, who is hoping to gain an 11th cap against Montenegro on Friday. "The only people who should play for England are English people.

"If you've lived in England for five years, for me, it doesn't make you English. You shouldn't play. It doesn't mean you can play for that country. If I went to Spain and lived there for five years, I'm not going to play for Spain. For me an English player should play for England really." Asked whether the same criteria should apply to managers of the national side, the midfielder added: "I think it's better if there is an Englishman [in charge], but don't get me wrong, Fabio Capello did a lot for my England career. He brought me here, gave me my debut and stuck with me form a young age, so he was a good manager as well."

Januzaj's sudden rise to prominence has highlighted the issue of naturalisation at a time when the lack of young English players making a mark in Premier League first-teams has already provoked the new FA chairman, Greg Dyke, to call for radical action to keep the England team competitive.

The recently appointed Under-21s manager, Gareth Southgate, pointed to two-thirds of his current squad having played for a senior side, whether in the Premier League or Football League, last weekend as reason for encouragement and was more philosophical on the Januzaj issue.

"It's a difficult one," he said. "He's not played for anyone else, so it's slightly different to some of our [England] cricketers. We seem to have embraced the England cricket team that have won the Ashes, and as far as I'm aware the majority of them have come in because they are good players, all for slightly different reasons perhaps. Historically we would have viewed it in a certain way, but the world is evolving. We have lots of boys in our squad who weren't born here but whose families have fled here, and they're all incredibly proud to play for England.

"The world is changing, families are moving more and more, and working abroad. It's important to know why somebody would want to play for you, and had he played for somebody else that would be more of an issue for me. But if you've not played for anybody then it's a greyer area in my view."

    ReplyDelete
  14. Gregg Dyke is an anti white racist. He who opined that the BBC was 'hideously white'. As football is the stronghold of the working class English and holds political correctness in contempt, he has been drawn in to destroy any association of the England team with Englishness and the naked 'old school' patriotic emotions that surround the national team.

Joey Barton has pointed out in an interesting critique of the state of English football in general that Dyke has surrounded himself with a committee lest any blame comes his way for their performance on the pitch. His real agenda is too de anglicise one of the remaining bastions of patriotism.

Barton said that he despaired of football and that the England on the field mirrored England in general and its woes. He declared himself an 'extremist' and that he had lost faith in democracy.

  15. A recent report from I can't remember who has said that Europe is now much as it was on the verge of World War 2 with signs of increasing xenophia. There is one thing in common of course and that is the deregulation of the banking system as happend in the 1920s and the subsequent economic collapse; except that this time it has gone much much further. The Red Cross is set to feed our poor as in Southern Europe.

As regards xenophobia, the gentleman questioned blamed the economic situation and the EU. Xenophobia has only happened because of mass immigration and latterly the free movement of labour within the EU plus the EU's taking over immigration control from individual nations. There is xenophobia and xenophobia, as I have said before, homogenous unicultural uniracial nations are able to take in a tiny amount of immigration, even non-European, immigration, as pre-War, without losing their national identities and their inhabitants feeling threatened. It is mass immigration that has fuelled such chaos as the natives feel threatened and marginalised. If nothing changes then England by the end of the century will look like London and Birmingham already. The 2011 census results sent a shock wave through the nation.

The EU is now on the verge of collapse. The pm of Hungary has slated the EU for not allowing individual nations to do what they feel is best for them. A professor in business at Nottingham University has said that all multi-ethnic empires finally collapse and EU will be no exception. He could have even referred to the United Kingdom. I have just read an article about Scotland in National Geographic and the hatred towards England was overwhelming. Elsewhere I read that everybody wants to beat the English cricket team. Let them go then, all of them, the Scots, the Welsh, the Irish, the Commonwealth. All they want to do is use us and abuse us. Let them all go and go home and give us our country and our peace back. They say that multi-ethnic America which seems to be the blueprint for Europe is a success but it is riven with inter-ethnic tensions and frictions and only works because it is stolen land. In Europe it is our land that is being stolen as - as Putin said our countries are being colonised by our former colonies. They only come because they are on a land grab, after all they say we are so horrible to them.

I think the chap in Nottingham was talking about such as the EU although he did say about the unworkabillity of the cobbling together of cultures which is coded speak for races and it could apply to "multiculturalism" as well. Birds of a feather flock together and it is well know that homogeneous groupings are more successful than pluralist ones. But the globalist kleptocracy and their Marxist useful idiots are still working at it and flying in the face of all reason. Now we have multucultural advertising on tv and it looks like what it is i.e. something wholly artificial, engineered and unnatural.

Meanwhile we learn from MI5 that we can expect a jihadist Kenya style attack at any moment and that they need to spy on us all to avoid it. They only need to spy on potential perpetrators especially those being allowed back without redress from Syria, not on those of us whose roots in this country go back to the dawn of time.

    1. Jack Wilshere has put the cat among the pigeons. He has drawn the country's attention to an important matter. The question he has raised is, "What does it mean to be English?".
The PC answer is that residence is sufficient, The real fact is that residency is not the criterion. It has to be recognised that living in England does not make anyone English, neither does speaking the language. Being English is a matter of ethnicity. That means that living in England does not make someone English.
A result of immigration, a distinction now has be made between living in England and being English.
It follows from that that the football team has to be the 'England Team'; not the 'English Team', because the English are now only one of the ethnic groups living in England.

      Delete
    2. I don't agree with the assertion that one must be of English ethnicity in order to be truly English. Immigrants have settled in England had children and made it their home over the last seventy years and if those people have adopted English customs and ways of doing things then in my opinion they are as English as anyone else.
The problem is that many immigrants do not adopt English customs and many retain strong cultural ties and allegiancies to their countries of origin. If immigrants are allowed to settle in large numbers and create enclaves in particular areas of the country, they are more likely to retain the cultural characteristics of their countries of origin. This behaviour is to some extent human nature and the immigrants themselves are not completely to blame. The politicians who have created this incohesive melting pot are predominantly to blame and should be held accountable for what, ultimately, they will have brought about.

But I don't agree that someone can be regarded as being English and having fully adopted an English identity if they have only been here for as little as five years. Former FA chairman David Bernstein did not agree with Wilshire's comments. Bernstein believes that England must take advantage of the residency rule. "We live in a changing world where there is much more fluidity in terms of population movements." said Bernstein. No doubt Bernstein would love it if all international borders and individual national identities were done away with in international football. He would no doubt favour a World Cup where players are picked out of a hat and assigned to play for a chosen team. International team A v International team B etc with teams not assigned to any specific geographical location.
